Copyright Policy

1. Content Ownership & Responsibility
By uploading any content to Build The Show - including headshots, profile photos, documents, or any other files - you represent and warrant that: (a) you own the copyright in the content, or have been granted an explicit license to reproduce, display, and store it digitally; (b) the content does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party; and (c) you have obtained any necessary consents from individuals who appear in photos or videos. Build The Show is not responsible for user-uploaded content that infringes third-party rights.
Important note for performers: Professional headshots are typically photographed by photographers who hold copyright in the image, not the performer. When uploading a professional headshot, you must have permission from the photographer to reproduce and display the image digitally.
2. Reporting Copyright Infringement
If you believe that content on Build The Show infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to copyright@buildtheshow.com containing:
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- The URL or location of the allegedly infringing content on our platform
- Your full name, address, phone number, and email address
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
We will review all valid notices and remove or disable access to infringing content where appropriate. We aim to acknowledge all copyright notices within 5 business days and to act on valid notices within 10 business days.
3. Counter-Notices
If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to copyright@buildtheshow.com explaining why you have the right to use the content. Include:
- Identification of the content that was removed and its former location on the platform
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the content was removed by mistake or misidentification
- Your full contact information
- Your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia
We will review counter-notices and may reinstate content if the counter-notice is valid.
4. Repeat Infringers
Build The Show will suspend or terminate the accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers of copyright. We take copyright compliance seriously and will act promptly on valid infringement notices.
5. Build The Show's Intellectual Property
Build The Show and all associated branding, design, software, and content are the intellectual property of Build The Show. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without express written permission. The Build The Show name and logo may not be used without prior written authorization.
